Why screen for HCM?

Heart ultrasound (Echocardiography or "Echo") is the preferred test for diagnosing HCM. It is painless and accurate. A screening Echo takes only a few minutes and for most will provide peace of mind. For a few, it can save their life.

If detected early, those with HCM can live a near normal life.
